When you visit Maine and New Hampshire you are visiting the two most “peaceful” states as ranked by the United States Peace Index. Maine is the most peaceful state in the country (for the second year running)! New Hampshire was ranked #2.
The ten most peaceful states as identified by the USPI are (from 1 to 10): Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Minnesota, North Dakota, Utah, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Iowa and Washington.
